2.1 Scope and who is responsible for your information

2.4 Cookies and tracking technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, tags, software development kits, local storage, and similar technologies on the Site to keep the Site working, remember your preferences, measure traffic, and support advertising. The types of technologies we use, the specific cookies you may encounter, and how to control them are described in our Cookie & Tracking Technologies Policy, which forms part of this Privacy Policy.

2.5 Analytics, advertising, and the platforms we work with

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (and Google Tag Manager to deploy it) to understand how visitors use the Site — which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive, and how they interact with forms and calls. Google Analytics collects information such as your IP address (which Google may use to derive approximate location and then truncate or otherwise handle in accordance with its policies), device and browser information, and your interactions with the Site. We have enabled, or may enable, Google Analytics advertising features, which allows Google Analytics data to be used for advertising purposes and combined with data from Google advertising products, and may include Google Signals (aggregated, de-identified data about signed-in Google users).

We may configure Google Analytics data retention and IP-address handling settings in the Google Analytics admin console, and we disclose the required information about Google Analytics advertising features as Google’s policies direct. Where required by law, we deploy Google Consent Mode v2 so that analytics and advertising tags respect your consent choices. Google’s own handling of information collected through its services is described in Google’s privacy policy and in “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.” You can learn about Google’s advertising technologies and opt out of personalized advertising at Google’s Advertising Technologies page and in Google Ads Settings.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — Meta Pixel and Conversions API

We use the Meta Pixel (and may use the Meta Conversions API, Meta’s advertising tools, and Meta Lead Ads) to measure the performance of our Facebook and Instagram advertising, to build audiences for future advertising, and to show relevant ads to people who have visited the Site or engaged with our pages. The Pixel collects information about your device and browser, the pages you view, and actions you take on the Site (such as submitting a form or clicking a phone number), along with a Meta cookie identifier; we also provide Meta with hashed or otherwise pseudonymized identifiers, such as a hashed email address or phone number, where we have a lawful basis and consent to do so, so that Meta can match our customers to their accounts for measurement and audience purposes. Some of this information may be associated with your Meta account by Meta and used by Meta as described in Meta’s Privacy Policy.

We are responsible for complying with Meta’s Business Tools Terms and its Advertising Standards, which require us, among other things, to provide notice and obtain any legally required rights, consents, and permissions before sharing your information through these tools, and to maintain a privacy policy that discloses the use of these tools. You can control how Meta uses information for advertising in Meta Ad Preferences.

Other advertising and measurement platforms

We may also use other advertising or measurement platforms (for example, Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, or social platforms we choose in the future) and may share with them the same kinds of information described above for the same purposes. When we add a materially new category of platform, we will update this Policy before or at the time the change takes effect. We and our advertising providers may show you ads on other websites, apps, and platforms based on information collected over time and across different services; this is often called “interest-based,” “behavioral,” or “targeted” advertising.

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, under some state privacy laws, sharing personal information with advertising platforms for targeted advertising, or allowing third parties to use our website data to build audiences, may be treated as a “sale” or as “sharing”/”targeted advertising.” Section 2.11 explains how to opt out.

2.6 AI and automated technologies

We use AI (artificial intelligence) and automated tools to help us serve you. These may include an AI chat or assistant feature on the Site, an automated or AI-assisted phone answering system, call recording, transcription, and summarization, AI-assisted drafting of website and advertising content, AI-generated or AI-enhanced imagery used for illustration, and AI-assisted optimization of advertising audiences and creative. Where an AI assistant interacts with you about a commercial transaction, we identify it as automated and not a human. AI outputs can be wrong or incomplete and are never a diagnosis, estimate, or professional opinion; always confirm important information with our staff by telephone at (561) 790-2886.

How AI tools are used

What we do to protect your information

Chat/assistant conversations on the Site; automated handling or transcription of phone enquiries; internal summaries of service notes

We use configured enterprise/business tools and require, through contract and configuration, that providers (a) process your information only for our benefit and not for their own marketing, (b) do not use our data to train their public or shared models, and (c) apply confidentiality and security measures. Access to transcripts and summaries is restricted to staff who need it to serve you.

AI-assisted content and imagery for the Site and advertising

We review and edit AI-assisted output before publication, we do not use your personal information to generate public content, and we do not describe AI imagery as a photograph of a specific customer or vehicle (see our Disclaimer).

Advertising optimization (audience expansion, creative testing)

We provide only the audience data described in Section 2.5, with hashing and consent where required, and we do not provide sensitive categories or free-text vehicle-repair details to advertising platforms.

We do not use AI or automated systems to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you (for example, credit decisions or denial of service). If you would prefer not to interact with an automated assistant, call us at (561) 790-2886 and a member of our team will assist you.

2.8 How long we keep personal information

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, and then delete or de-identify it:

  • Repair and service records and invoices: retained for at least the period required by law and for the duration of applicable warranties after the date of service.
  • Sales, tax, and financial records: retained for the period required by tax and business law.
  • Website and analytics data: retained in Google Analytics according to our configured retention setting of a limited time and in advertising platforms according to their own retention rules and our audience settings.
  • Marketing contacts: retained until you unsubscribe or opt out, plus a short suppression period to honor your choice.
  • Chat and call transcripts, and AI summaries: retained for a limited time unless needed longer for a warranty or dispute.
  • Security-camera footage: retained for a limited period unless needed for an incident or legal matter.

2.9 How we protect personal information

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) across the Site, access controls and role-based permissions, vendor due-diligence and contractual protections, staff training, and secure disposal of records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach of security affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law, including the Florida Information Protection Act.

2.10 Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly direct advertising to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us at info@wellingtonautoservice.com and we will delete it. Where we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it as required by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

2.11 Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights, and we will honor them to the extent the law requires and, where we choose, as a matter of policy:

  • Right to know / access: to confirm whether we process your personal information and to receive a copy of it (including, where required, the specific pieces and categories collected, sources, purposes, and recipients).
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep for tax, warranty, or safety reasons).
  • Right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, of targeted advertising, and of profiling in furtherance of decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. We do not conduct the latter.
  • Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information, where applicable. We do not collect sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics.
  • Right to data portability (to receive your information in a portable format).
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a lower quality of service because you exercised a privacy right.
  • Right to appeal a refusal of a request, where required.

How to exercise your rights. Submit a request by emailing info@wellingtonautoservice.com  by calling (561) 790-2886, or by writing to Wellington Auto Service, 3103 Fortune Way #1, Wellington, Florida 33414, Attention: Privacy Request. We will confirm receipt and respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 45 days, extendable where permitted). We may ask you to verify your identity — for example, by confirming information we already hold about you — before acting on a request. You may designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf; we may require proof of authorization. We will tell you if we cannot honor a request and the reason.

Opting out of targeted advertising and “sharing.” To opt out of advertising cookies and pixels, use the consent banner on the Site, the controls described in the Cookie Policy, or the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out tool, and set your browser or an extension to send the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. We honor GPC as a valid opt-out of sale/sharing and targeted advertising (see Section 2.13). You can also email info@wellingtonautoservice.com and ask us to add you to our internal advertising opt-out list, and we will stop sharing your information for targeted advertising. Because browser-based opt-outs apply to the device and browser used, repeat them on each device if you wish.

State-specific notes. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws — which, as of the date of this Policy, include California (CCPA/CPRA), Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky, and Rhode Island — may exercise the rights above. Florida’s Digital Bill of Rights (FDBR) imposes obligations that are generally understood to apply only to very large businesses that meet specified revenue or data-volume thresholds; we do not believe we meet them, but we honor these rights voluntarily as described here. We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

2.12 International visitors (EEA, UK, and elsewhere)

Our business is in the United States and our Site is directed primarily to customers in Florida. If you visit from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on the legal bases identified in Section 2.3, transfer data using appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses with our processors), and honor your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent, as well as your right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Advertising and analytics cookies are set only after consent where required; see the Cookie Policy and Section 2.5 on Google Consent Mode v2.

2.13 Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. There is no common industry standard for how to interpret DNT, so we do not respond to DNT signals. We do respond to the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of sale/sharing and targeted advertising where the law requires or, in our practice, generally. Because GPC must be implemented at the server and tag level, the site is configured so that a recognized GPC signal suppresses advertising and third-party tagging for that browser session.

2.14 Links to other sites

The Site contains links to other websites and services, such as map providers, review platforms, and social media pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing information to them.

2.15 Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version. If we make a material change — for example, a new category of personal information, a new purpose, or a new category of recipient — we will post a prominent notice on the Site before the change takes effect and, where required, obtain your consent.

2.16 How to contact us
